Beta Testing

You have been referred to our Beta Testing program, where we give our participants a free copy of an soon-to-be published edition of an e-book in exchange for feedback about their experience with acquiring, downloading, and using the book. Our goal is to test these new editions on as many devices as possible, in as many countries as possible, so we can address as many errors and issues as possible before releasing it to the public. Thanks so much for being a part of our Beta Testing!

There are two parts to any Beta Test - getting the book, and providing your feedback. Please be sure to do both!

Google Play Edition

This edition is the original first edition, but reformatted for Google Play Books. It was developed for students that use school-issued Chromebooks and are unable to use apps to open the other formats. It was also developed to expand distribution to countries outside the US and Canada where using Kindle books or ordering printed books from Amazon is unavailable, cumbersome, or expensive. We want to further optimize it for everyone, so please let us know how how it worked for you and what you suggest to make it better for everyone.

Almost anyone with a Gmail account (or a school email account that is managed through Google Classroom) that has opened Google Play Books on their device, which does not require a payment card on file to download free books, should be able to access and open it.
The only exceptions are countries that do not allow free book distribution as part of their anti-piracy laws, which is very few.

This book can be easily read in the Chrome browser. We are awaiting feedback on how well it works on other browsers.

This book can also be opened in the Google Play Books app, available on Google play store for Android and also available on iTunes for iPhones, but it may be hard to read on smaller screens.

This will be listed for free through 01/15/2023.

iTunes Cell Phone Edition

This edition has been formatted for iPhone and iPad screens, as many students have iPhones and many teams have access to classroom iPad sets. It can be opened on a Mac, but it will be hard to read as it is optimized for smaller, handheld screens. It cannot be used on any other devices.

Please note this requires an Apple ID, an iTunes account and the Apple Books app, which requires a payment card on file to use even for free books (and games, apps, etc). If you don't want to give them a credit card, you may be able to connect your PayPal account or use a iTunes gift card instead, depending on the laws in your country. Unfortunately this is an Apple requirement and we cannot change that.

This edition has been reformatted in a 9x16 ratio layout to better fit most phone screens, and most of the text has been enlarged to make it easier to read. The prefilled example forms, however, will have text you may need to zoom in on to be able to read. This is because the example forms are formatted for a letter size or A4 size paper, which is what most teams use for documentation, and that is very small when displayed on a phone screen.

This will be listed for free through 101/15/2023.
